I first discovered Chip Taylor way back when I started loving Evie Sands music. I knew that he had written Angel of the Morning. What I didn't know is that he had written so much more, including Wild Thing for the Troggs, I can't let go (Hollies and Evie) Try (just a little bit harder) for Janis, Here I am, a plethora of country hits, worked with Chet, discovered and produced James Taylor and so much more.
Taylor is a stage name for one Wes Voight, brother of the actor Jon and famous vulcanologist Barry. Yonkers born, he started out playing Rockabilly with Jon. Blackjack savant, banished from the casinos for his prowess and counting ability, scratch golfer, horse racing handicapping genius.

Recorded October 1969 at The Actuel Rock Festival in Belgium - Frank Zappa, was there acting as master of ceremonies and Captain Beefheart's road manager. He denied actually sitting in with Pink Floyd (reportedly), but it's unmistakably Frank's guitar playing. Check out Zappa's solo around 12 minutes in. Frank also sat in with other acts including Blossom Toes - and that performance is available on the Toe's LP Love Bomb: Live 1967-69
